The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of
Brainstorming techniques with YouTube media was effective in improving
speaking skills and students' self-confidence at SMPN 35 Makassar. This study
focused on pre-experimental research one group pre-test and post-test. The
population in this study was class VIII SMPN 35 Makassar in the academic year
2021/2022, totaling 298 students. To obtain the sample, purposive sampling
technique was used to take one class as the research sample consisting of 33
students. Data obtained from written text. The data were obtained from the
speaking ability test during the pre-test and post-test. The results of this study
proved that the brainstorming learning technique using YouTube was effective in
improving students' speaking skills and self-confidence. This can be seen in the
average score of students in the pre-test, which is 43.0 and increases to 71.5% in
the post-test. That is, the use of Brainstorming learning techniques with YouTube
media can improve students' speaking skills at SMPN 35 Makassar. |
