Abstract:
This research is motivated by the condition of rural areas located in
highland areas which are still limited by electricity supply, a fundamental
reason for empowering the water potential of the Maiting River to be a
source of a powerful Mini Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH).
This study aims to find out how to determine the discharge needed to
generate electricity from the Ma'dong II PLTM and to find out the effective
discharge of the river needed to generate electricity at the Ma’dong II
PLTM.
In initiating this study secondary data collection such as rainfall data,
climatology data, daily rainfall, mainstay discharge and effective fall height
were obtained from the Makassar Meteorology and Geology Agency
(BMKG) and Ma'dong II PLTM. The method used in calculating
Evapotranspiration is the Penman Modification Method. Mainstay Debit
calculations using the F.J.Mock Method. The results showed that the
F.J.Mock Method produced a mainstay discharge (Q80) of 5.55 m3 / sec.
