dc.description.abstract This research aims to know the increasing students‟ speaking ability through the use of finding missing information technique at class VIII.6 SMPN 23 Makassar. This research used classroom action research method by selecting class VIII.6 as research subject. This study consists of two cycles, each cycle consists of four stages, namely: planning, action, observation and reflection. The instrument of this research is speaking test. The speaking test is to answer the words according to the ongoing situation and to introduce their bestfriend that was tested 2 times in the form of cycle I and cycle II. The results of the data analysis show improvement of students' speaking ability through the application of finding missing information technique. It can be seen from the average value of students in every cycle. In the first cycle the mean score of students is 64.60 and in the second cycle has increased ie 71.70. In addition, the classroom atmosphere becomes more active because of the increasing interest of students in learning English because of the curiosity they get in the application of this method. From this research, it can be concluded that the application of find missing information technique can improve the students‟ speaking ability at grade VIII.6 SMPN 23 Makassar. en_US
