Abstract:
The objective of this research was to find out whether or not dubbing
technique in short animation movie can improve students for speaking ability at
the second year students of SMPN 3 Makassar, in academic year 2018/2019
which consist of 20 students.
This research used pre-experimental design with pre-test, post-test, and data
analysis. The data analysis required quantitative data that obtained from the oral
test.
The result of the research showed that dubbing technique in short animation
movie for speaking ability were able to increase students‟ speaking ability at the
second year students of SMPN 3 Makassar. They were taken by analysis of the
data from accuracy, fluency and comprehensibility. It can be showed the result of
data from accuracy that students‟ total score of pre-test which was 40 and the
post-test was 83, fluency of pre-test which was 48 and the post-test was 84,
comprehensibility of pre-test which was 34 and the post-test was 91. This research
was succeeded, it can be proved from the students‟ mean score of pre-test which
was 45.6 and the post-test was 89.8. And T-test was higher than T-table
(16.19>2.086). In short, dubbing technique in short animation increased students
for speaking ability significantly.
