Abstract:
The research aimsed to know whether the use of plan and write
strategy in writing can influence the students’ to identifying narrative text.
The researcher used an pre-experimental research that used
quantitative analysis. The data was by given pre-test and post-test with
compared the value of students in pre-test and post-test.
The result of this research indicates that the use of plan and write
strategy was effective in increase students’ writing of the IX grade
students of SMP Negeri 35 Makassar. In this case, there is a significant
value between pre-test and post-test. The value of t-test was 90.632 mean
while the value of t-table was 2.064. The value of statistic was higher than
t-table (90.632>2.064). The average value of students in the pre-test 62.64
and the post-test was 81.56.Therefore, the writer hopes the English
teachers especially of SMP Negeri 35 Makassar could apply this strategy
in writing learning process, to reach the learning purpose that effective,
systematic and pragmatic.
