dc.description.abstract The objective of this study is to find out the types of grammatical errors in writing spoof text. The researcher analyzed the errors based on the surface strategy taxonomy; omission, addition, misformation, misordering. In doing this study the researcher employed descriptive qualitative design. The subject of this research was the third grade students of SMPN 8 Makassar in the academic year 2018/2019, while the sample is class IX.4 (30 students). The data was collected from the students writing spoof text paragraph. After analyzing the data, the researcher found that there are 255 errors items made by the students in writing spoof text. The frequency and percentage of the students’ error in making spoof text are omission errors 101 items (39.61%), addition errors 33 items (12,94%), misformation errors 103 items (40.39%), and misordering errors 18 items (7,06%). Therefore, the result of the research showed that misformation errors are the highest error made by the students en_US
