Abstract:
The objective of the study was to see whether or not animation
movie effects students’ writing ability at the third grade students of SMP
Negeri 35 Makassar.
This study used pre-experimental method. The data were obtained
from the pretest and the posttest result of the students and there were 30
students as the subject of the study.
The result in this research indicate that students’ writing ability was
effected by using animation movie as a media. It was proved by students’
score that there was an improvement score from pre-test to post-test,
which is the mean score of students’ pre-test is 48,4 and the mean score
of students’ post-test is 70,3. It also can be seen from the value of the ttest is 11,82 higher than t-table which is 2,045. In conclusion, using
animation movie as a media effected students’ writing ability at the IX.2
grade students of SMP Negeri 35 Makassar.
