dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study is to determine whether the use of the Mix Freeze Group strategy can improve students' ability to understand the contents of reading and be able to overcome difficulties faced by students in understanding the contents of reading or discourse. This research is a experimental research conducted on first grade Makassar 13 high school students totaling 240 students as a population. The sample of this research is the first grade students of IPS 4, amounting to 20 students. the results showed that the use of the Mix Freeze Group strategy tested in SMA 13 Makassar was successful. this can be seen with the increase in students' English skills, especially in improving the ability to understand the contents of student reading which was low to good. en_US
