Abstract:
This study aims to find out: 1) To find out and analyze the implementation
of the investigation into the crime of rape in the Panakkukang Sector Police. 2) To
find out and analyze the obstacles in carrying out the investigation of the crime of
rape in the Panakkukang Sector Police.
The research method used is Normative Law research. The results showed
that the implementation of an investigation into not a crime of rape in the
Panakukkang Sector Police was carried out through the stages, namely:
processing criminal complaints from victims, conducting visum et repertum on
victims, after that submitting cases to the PPA unit, making Investigation Reports
(BAP) , conducting cases to determine suspects, making administrative
investigations, confiscating evidence, arresting and detaining perpetrators of rape,
completing and sending case files to the prosecutor's office, sending suspects and
evidence to the prosecutor's office. Then the factors that hinder the Investigation
of Rape Crime in the Panakukkang Sector Police, namely: 1. Internal factors
which include: Human Resources (HR), namely the lack of investigators in the
PPA unit, There are some investigators who are less experienced in handling and
treating victims , the long distance between the time the complaint and the
incident made it difficult to find evidence, and the lack of facilities and
infrastructure. 2. The external factor is the reluctance of rape victims who do not
report it because they are embarrassed, and there is no community support for
reporting incidents of rape
