Abstract:
As one of the major cities in eastern Indonesia, the population of the city of
Makassar is 1712413 million and, as a result of the increase of the activity of the
movement in the city of Makassar every day, ready or not the transport sector must
be given special attention in order to ease the flow of people and goods
transportation and out of the city of Makassar, so as to support the economy and
services of the city of Makassar as the capital of South Sulawesi province, length of
roads in the city of Makassar in 2015 is 1593.46 km.
Almost all the roads lie in the same plane or the horizontal plane and most of
that traffic stream intersect, causing conflicts between traffic flows intersect, the
conflict ultimately led to delays / congestion and sometimes crash, Operation of an
intersection may be a critical factor in determining the total capacity and the
performance of an intersection causing the problem becomes complex due to the fact
every intersection has distinctive properties such as layout, the average flow of
vehicles, turning movement, pedestrian arms and so on
