dc.description.abstract This research aimed to analyse the construction of moral panic as depicted in Ray Bradbury's novel Fahrenheit 451 and the effects of moral panic on social conditions. The research used a qualitative descriptive research method through sociological studies. There were two sources of data, namely primary data and secondary data. Primary data was taken from the novel "Fahrenheit 451". Secondary data was taken from journals, theses, and articles. The researcher found the construction of moral panic and the influence of moral panic on social conditions contained in the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. The data findings showed that Ray Bradbury described the construct of moral panic through concern, consensus, hostility, disproportionality, and volatility. Moral panic had an impact on social conditions because of the widespread concern in society about a condition, person, or group that was considered dangerous and threatened people's lives, causing conflicts and social gaps en_US
