AMBITION OF MIGUEL RIVERA IN COCO MOVIE SCRIPT

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the types of ambition and the impact of ambition that affect of the main characters in Coco movie script and this study was expected to be used by further writers. In the analysed the data, the writer uses qualitative descriptive research methods through psychological approach. Data is obtained by reading, taking notes and analysis techniques. The result of this study is the Coco movie script by Lee Unkrich contains three types of ambition from Alfred Adler theory there were (1) Ambition on Strive for Success the desire and struggle to achieves success and perfection in achieved dreams which in this study the main character got the ambition to strive for success within himself. (2) Ambition on Aggressive in this aggressive ambition who tended to wanted his dreams not to be disturbed by anyone the main character here very aggressive because he did not wanted to listen his family to became a musician. (3) Ambition on Perfectionist wanted to had a perfect life without any interference from other people the main character had a very perfectionist type about how he achieved his dreams in his own way. There three impacts ambition according to Barsukova theory, namely (1) Ambition based on Confidence was a form that tends to had a strong level of ambition with confidenced to do what he wanted to achieved, the main character had a strong sense of confidence to achieved his dreams in this ambition impacts he became more confident. (2) Ambition based on Personal Interest was a form had a personal interest in something he wanted to achieved, the main character had a personal interest in music. (3) Ambition based on Strong Desire had big dreams and a strong determination to achieved them. With a strong desire the individual began to pursue this opportunity Miguel Rivera had a strong desire to become a famous musician.
