Abstract:
The objective of this research was to find out whether or not JOOX
Application can improve students vocabulary at the 8
th grade students of SMPN 8
Makassar, in academic year 2019/2020 which consist of 30 students.
This research used pre-experimental design with pre-test, post-test, and data
analysis. The result of the research showed that JOOX Music application were
able to increase students’ vocabulary at the 8
th grade students of SMPN 8
Makassar. They were taken by analysis of the data from vocabulary ability test
from pre-test and post-test. The result of the research shows that JOOX Music
Application significantly increased students’ vocabulary ability after did
treatment. The mean score improved from 58 in pre-test to 90.2 in post-test. It
means that JOOX Music Application could enhance the students’ vocabulary
ability in learning English at SMPN 8 Makassar
