This study aims to examine the feasibility of developing an Integrated Fisheries Industry Area (KIPT) in Selayar Islands Regency as a strategic effort to encourage maritime economic growth and optimize the utilization of regional fisheries resource potential. The research method used is a feasibility study with a multidisciplinary approach that includes technical, market, legal, socio-economic, environmental, and financial aspects. Data collection was carried out through literature studies, field surveys, interviews with stakeholders, and secondary data analysis from various related agencies. The results of the study indicate that Selayar Islands Regency has very large potential for capture fisheries and aquaculture, especially for pelagic fish and seaweed commodities. The planned location for KIPT in Lowa Village, Bontosikuyu District, is considered technically feasible and in accordance with the regional spatial plan. From a financial perspective, the
development of KIPT shows a positive NPV value, competitive IRR, and efficient Payback Period, indicating that this project is economically feasible to be realized. The social aspect shows that this area is able to create jobs and improve the welfare of local communities, while the environmental aspect is designed to meet the principles of sustainable development through waste management and conservation. Overall, this study concludes that the development of KIPT in Selayar Islands Regency is very feasible and strategic to be developed as a center for the growth of the fisheries industry in eastern Indonesia. The main recommendations of this study are the need to accelerate the preparation of advanced technical documents, the establishment of an area management institution, and active investment promotion to attract strategic partners from the private sector. |
