Agribusiness is one of the sectors in economic activity based on agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries or other fields that support it. Activities in the agribusiness sector include one or the whole of the production chain, product processing and marketing. Along with the increasing population, level of education, and public awareness of nutrition, especially protein for life, the demand for chicken production in the form of eggs as a provider of animal protein is increasing. The decrease in the number of farmers in Bulo Village indicates that poultry farming is still very vulnerable in its development, this is indicated by fluctuations in the price of eggs and feed and medicines for broilers in the market. The availability of abundant natural resources as poultry feed ingredients (corn and bran) is an alternative to streamline production costs. Community Service in the Partner Village Development Program (PPDM) was carried out in Bulo Village, Panca Rijang District, Sidrap Regency. The implementation method in community service is in the form of: socialization, mentoring and coaching using the following approach models: 1) Problem Based Discussion Model, 2) Knowledge Transfer Model, 3) Intensive Learning Model and 4) seminar and training model. The output of this activity is the economic empowerment of rural communities through the development of poultry farming agribusiness, in the form of: changing mindsets, increasing income, increasing agribusiness capabilities and increasing village competitiveness and integrated chicken coops. The development of livestock business carried out by the farmers of Bulo
Village is directed to be agribusiness oriented where business management is carried out in an integrated manner from upstream to downstream which can provide decent profits in a sustainable manner. |
