EMPOWERMENT FISHERMEN TO INCREASE PRODUCTION AND INCOME ON THE ISLAND OF BARRANG LOMPO IN THE LAND MAKASSAR

Abstract

College work real learning of people empowerment ( KKN-PPM ) that have been undertaken in island barrang lompo kecamatan sangkarrang (formerly district the end of the ground) Makassar aims to improve participation and empowerment the community in improving income. During the conduct KKN PPM on the island of Barrang Lompo, it noted that island Barrang Lompo having many potential needs to be developed, drying fish business, business abon fish, business crackers squids and there are handicrafts fisheries products that still be constructed in manual, except for done at night for electricity only available state hours 18.00-06 morning, so that production is still very limited, access omnipresence have not extends and their business does not reflect as place of business craft, in this case the arrangement institutional not yet optimal. The results of assistance and training by students KKN PPM showed the presence of change in the mindset business players.Work programs implemented students KKN consists of three parts , basic program ( K1 ), program help ( K2 ) and the others ( K3 ).Basic program been taken such as data collection smes, implement meeting entrepreneurship well as counselling empowerment craftsman hand fisheries products with the approach partisifasi active with guidance integrated .To hire generator and equipment a means of production during a course KKN PPM held so , production has increased , in addition to the creation of brochures so business craft fisheries products the there has been so much know. For it, as empowerment in higher community potential fisheries products as an effort to enhance economic households as their survival and welfare sustainably. Program K2 implemented among them were data collection the population and livelihoods , village administration , making street names and the hall, the gate, the hall garden and implementation of the program K3 of parents with the through the sports and the arts
